The GLBA is proud to announce its philanthropic association LOUD is launching the First Annual LOUD Awards on Thursday May 28th, 2009 at the Stanley Park Pavilion near Malkin Bowl starting at 7pm. Enjoy a night of networking, a fantastic silent auction, as well as our feature entertainer, the lovely and talented Ms. Kim Kuzma.
 
Tickets for the event are $60 individually or $250 for a table of 5 and available at Little Sisters Book and Art Emporium located at 1238 Davie Street.
 
Each of the 3 awards for 2009 includes an assigned mentor from the GLBT community and an educational scholarship of $2,000 towards post-secondary education. The selection committee included Dr. Hedy Fry, MP Vancouver Centre, Jim Deva from Little Sisters Book & Art Emporium and Mark Hurtubise of TD Canada Trust.
 
"We concentrate on inclusion, not exclusion, and we're very impressed by applicants from all walks of life, areas of BC and sexual orientations who applied with an amazing array of leadership projects already in place. It is the perfect balance between leading and learning." said Tyler Wozny, Chair of L.O.U.D. (which is an acronym for Leadership, Opportunity, Unity, and Diversity).
